Hi there,

I'm just doing the Hungarian translation and have the following problem. If I set 8852-2 then accentuated letters are OK in portal but wrong (circumflex accent) by any post, articles, etc. The debugger says 8852-2 is not supported, use 8852-1 instead so I changed to 8852-1. Now, all posts and articles are OK, but the portal shows wrong accents. :S What shell I do to get the right accents everywhere?

Thanks in Advance,

try utf-8

you should notice that apache sends a character set, php can't override it in some cases. web browsers are having problems determining the right character set and since mysql saves the data with probably another charset , too, this problem can get very heavy.

as i said try to set everything you can to one charset, especially utf-8 is recommended

I tried utf-8 but it's worse as the others. All accentuated letters are replced with graphical signs like inverse questionmarks and others. So, let's try your solution Fr33zm4n. How should I start?

I have changed the database collation to utf8-hungarian_ci, and have converted it to it. Then I changed the comlang.php to utf-8 and still get the inverted questionmarks instead of letters. :(

More interesting in this case, if I change the browser to ISO-8859-2, than everything looks fine o.O So I changed back to ISO8859-2 in comlang. After this all old contens and portal is fine, but any new text is wrong again.

More ideas how to get rid on this?

Hi! Sry, I've got no time yet. I have to check the passwords, cause they're strange ones, I cannot memorize them
